From Then
Salmond's Coaches was founded almost 30 years ago in 1992 by Steven and Yvonne Salmond who worked from their home, in West Calder, with only one Leyland 16 seat Mini Coach. In the beginning, our business transported pupils with additional support needs to and from school during the week, and did private hires for the public in the evenings and at weekends. From there our business began to grow and we made the decision to invest in creating or own range of custom built wheelchair accessible vehicles. This gave us the ability to transport a greater number pupils with various requirements to schools in our local area.
For over 20 years, thanks to our commitment to offering a quality service at an affordable price, our business was able to flourish into the much larger company we have become today.
To Now
With over 25 years in the industry our company has come a long way from where we began. We now offer a wide range of vehicles from 16 to 87 seats. Around 5 years ago we began branching into larger vehicles. Now that we have acquired larger vehicles we are able to offer a broader variety of services including wedding and concert transport as well as gaining the ability to organize our own Trips and Tours.
Even though our business has grown and our services have changed over the past three decades, we remain a family business dedicated to providing an excellent service to our customers near and far.
And Beyond...
At Salmond's we believe that we are each responsible for playing our part in taking the road to a better future. As part of our corporate social responsibility principles, we are launching our new Road to a Greener Tomorrow initiative to begin transitioning our business to more sustainable business practices.
